Datos Generales

Resident Evil 5, también conocido en Japón como Biohazard 5, es la última entrega de la saga de videojuegos de Resident Evil, del género Survival horror (o considerado TPS por algunos), desarrollado por la compañía nipona Capcom para las consolas de séptima generación PlayStation 3 y Xbox 360. Fue lanzado el 5 de marzo de 2009 en Japón y toda Asia, mientras que en América y Europa fue lanzado el 13 de marzo de 2009. La versión para PC ha salido el 15 de septiembre de 2009 en EEUU y el 18 de septiembre de 2009 en Europa.

La editora responsable de la franquicia Grand Theft Auto, Take-Two, anunció recientemente que abrirá una sede en Japón. La oficina se dedicará a la localización y publicación de los juegos de la compañía en territorio oriental. Así, buscan separarse de las empresas japonesas más populares en distribución, como es el caso de Capcom o 3D Publisher.

En las noticias de videojuegos, la posibilidad de que la saga GTA llegue a territorio japonés con un acercamiento más pensado desde lo local es un gran adelanto para la industria occidental, que frecuentemente alude a la mentalidad “cerrada” del mercado japonés.

La guerra de las consolas es otro tema que sigue apareciendo constantemente en las noticias sobre videojuegos, ya que las dos consolas de mayor poder, Xbox 360 y PS3, han salido al cruce en los primeros meses de 2010.

Parece que Play Station 3 repunta en ventas y los directivos de Microsoft no lo niegan, aunque Aaron Greenberg (uno de los principales encargados de Xbox 360) ha dicho que las ventajas en años pasados, la comunidad en línea y Project Natal bastarán para que Xbox venda más que PS3 en 2010.
